This would accelerate the present to the future. If some one from the future were able to send back blueprints of new technology or cures to diseases, then the amount of time it took to actually happen upon these discoveries would disappear. We could jump hundreds or thousands of years into the future and not really change space and time at all in the present.

yes, if this is actually plausible, the moment he turns it on, assuming whatever future remains, could essentially send us back countless amounts of information, accelerating our own technological development. i imagine however, it would have to be strickly controlled, to avoid abuse, there is signficant amount of information about the future we SHOULDNT know
